Since joining Colony I’ve had the opportunities and support to grow personally and professionally. In my time the business has grown over 10x and I’ve been fortunate enough to grow right alongside the Company. I am currently the Regional General Manager of the New York City/New Jersey Region, and am extremely excited to continue to grow as a better leader and better person as Colony continues to grow alongside me.

I chose Colony’s DLP program because it was a management training program that showed all aspects of the business. It gave me the opportunity to not only see but experience everything from receiving product and stocking, to selling either on the phones or over the counter to customers. Since my first day back in June of 2016, I have lived in 3 different states and held three different positions within the company. I have had the privilege to work with great people and see this company grow.

Colony Hardware offered me the career growth I was looking for after graduating from college. The multi-faceted DLP program, along with the company’s growth overall, provides unlimited potential for young professionals in the construction/hardware industry.

I chose Colony because it’s a fast paced and growing organization. There is no shortage of opportunities within Colony and the DLP program provided me the experience to take the next steps and grow my career.

I chose Colony because of the career growth opportunities, and the friendly culture throughout the organization. At the end of the DLP program I was able to get a placement right for me doing the job I want in a location and team that supports me to do my best.

I chose Colony’s DLP program because of the training and visibility it gives you across all departments within Colony. In my short 5 years at Colony, I have had many growth opportunities and roles including: warehouse picker, store counter, purchasing agent, inside sales, outside sales, and ultimately management. All of which have been great experiences, each in their own way. What keeps me at Colony are the great relationships made with coworkers and customers!

Tom Meyers

Quinnipiac University ‘17
Inside Sales Manager – Orange, CT

I joined Colony because I was looking to work for a company that had a training program where I could learn about a business from the ground up. I didn’t want to just show up to “do a job”. The DLP program provided hands-on experience in all major aspects of the business as well as an opportunity to build relationships throughout different departments and levels of Colony. Through those experiences I was able to grow professionally alongside Colony’s growth (from 11 locations when I started 6 years ago to over 40!) taking positions that have allowed me to travel across the Northeast, Southeast, and the Midwest and have an impact on the success of the company.
