Our History

Founded in 1946 as a single, family-owned hardware store in Meriden, CT, Colony Hardware has grown to become the leading distributor of tools, equipment, supplies, safety products, and tool repairs and rentals. In 1988 our president Michael Weiner purchased Colony Hardware and transformed it from a business mostly focused on residential customers to a leading supplier to commercial and industrial contractors.

Throughout the past 3 decades Colony Hardware has expanded into new markets through opening new locations and identifying strategic acquisitions. Today we operate 60+ locations in 19 states, with plans to expand and double the size of the business by 2024.
