Description

Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Working with sales and customers to determine specific requirements to win and manage fastener business.
  • Defines processes and procedures required to maintain and manage fastener sales.
  • Works closely with IT to ensure tools necessary to manage VMI, Consignment etc... are effective and provide benefits to the organization and customers.
  • Works closely with other Regional Managers and Branch Managers to resolve capacity issues during times of high demand.
  • Implements recommendations and key objectives from Colony’s strategic plan on increasing Industrial Fastener sales and operations.
  • Guides team to achieve assigned goals, meet assigned profitability expectations and achieve new account targets.
  • Develops, delivers, and tracks progress of all Fasteners sales and related goals.
  • Sets up training programs ensuring we are proficient and effective in producing results.
  • Participates in identifying and developing new markets, products, and growth opportunities in conjunction with Sales, Marketing and Leadership team.
  • Ensures success of tools shows, promotions and contests by providing guidance, support, tracking and feedback throughout the process.
  • Works with Inside Sales/CSR team to ensure customer satisfaction, lead times, pricing, and capacity.
  • Knowledge is above industry standard.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to personnel to help promote fastener business.
  • Works closely with all shop personnel to ensure all Preventive Maintenance is being conducted to reduce equipment down-time and safety concerns.
  • Will work with local branch managers to conduct spot audits of the fastener operations.
  • Collects data, analyzes info and provides feedback to sales and branch teams to increase performance, skill sets and overall productivity.
  • Works with Sourcing and Purchasing to help maximize fastener and accessory buys.
  • Communicates and collaborates regularly with the Regional Manager and Regional Sales Managers to refer opportunities for growth in products and services.
  • Utilize Sales Data with Regional Sales Managers to identify sales opportunities in market.
  • Collaborates with other departments such as Marketing, Purchasing and Finance to ensure strong customer retention practices.
  • Assists company wide sales and service resources as needed.
  • Conducts one on one reviews with shop managers to assess performance, identify developmental needs and provide guidance on how to improve performance.
  • Educates themselves and informs customers on all products Colony has to offer.
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops existing employees and helping to resolve performance problems and discrepancies.
  • Conducts timely performance evaluations by monitoring performance and initiating action to strengthen results with goal setting.
  • Implements and reinforces company policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
  • Participates in interview process for key shop roles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College Degree in Business-related disciplines preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in managerial or director experience.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of successful Fastener sales and operations.
  • Valid Driver’s License. Motor Vehicle Record must show a record of sustained safe driving with no moving violations in the last 3 years.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and perform multiple tasks.
  • Must have excellent time management, negotiation, critical thinking, decision making, and organizational skills as well as attention to detail.
  • Must exhibit good leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to support and mentor staff of more than one employee.
  • Analytical ability including basic math skills.
  • Ability to navigate websites and able to see, review, and interpret computer images and written documents.
  • Excellent communication skills including speaking, reading, and writing in the English language with the ability to converse verbally with others on the phone and/or in person.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and climb stairs, stretch, and bend.
  • Must have outstanding customer service skills with the ability to interpret customer needs as well as demonstrate a customer service mindset when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Must have a proven track record of turning customers with basic price and delivery requests into profitable customers by using product and application knowledge, and sales skills.
  • Ability to physically navigate construction sites which may have irregular or unfinished surfaces.
  • Ability to fully inform customers all about Colony’s products and services and ensure them why they should do business with Colony.
 
Working Conditions 
This position is full-time. Excellent attendance, punctuality, and working a flexible schedule, including possible weekends, is required. Must be willing to travel (by car or air) to other branches and locations and dedicate after hours for modules, seminars, customer/company events, and training sessions as needed.

Desktop computer and mouse/tablet/laptop, telephone, cellphone, fax machine, GPS, demo equipment including power tools and safety products.
