A Little About Your Day. You will:
- Actively work with the sales team to design successful bid strategies.
- Assist in bid preparation and ensure customers receive quotations in a timely manner.
- Track and monitor competitor pricing to determine market value of bids.
- Read and understand construction blueprints to assess required rebar.
- Create accurate and complete rebar estimations in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with associates and customers in all aspects of the estimating process.
- Review contract drawings and specifications for all requirements on a project.
- Communicate with design engineer or owner to clarify any unusual or special material issues via phone, e-mail or written Requests for Information (RFI).
- Perform Quantity Take-offs for Reinforcing Steel, Wiremesh, and Accessories.
- Prepare Quotations for Distribution to the Customers.
- Maintain a record of all estimating in current estimating log and keep documentation and records for each job.
- Coordinates and reviews work of other estimators or sales staff as a senior employee.
- Conducts continuing education training and mentoring of other sales and estimating staff on a regular basis.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
What You’ll Need for Success:
- 5+ years experience in rebar estimating
- Proficient in reading blueprints
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
- Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change, and work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of the ASA estimating software
- Prior rebar or metal working experience
