Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this position has primary responsibility for the oversight of the general accounting and reporting functions while ensuring proper adherence to U.S. GAAP. This role will play a critical part in the continued improvement of internal controls and process enhancements. Candidates must be organized and have great attention to detail. They must be reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively. There will also be responsibility for managing and developing the Senior Accountants reporting to this position. 

A Little About Your Day: You will: 

  • Manage the accounting close process, including review of account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals to ensure a timely and accurate financial close.
  • Contribute to the development of internal controls and process improvements with strong documentation.
  • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reporting from the Company’s acquired entities. This role is also the main point of contact for financial performance-related inquiries from various teams throughout the organization.
  • Prepare the monthly reporting package provided to the board.
  • Prepare borrowing base certificate as required by the bank on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in the post-acquisition integration of acquired companies and opening of new company locations.
  • Prepare technical accounting assessments for non-routine transactions.
  • Responsible for variance analysis and narrative of actual to budget and period-over-period results.
  • Participate in the annual budget and forecast process.
  • Drive continuous improvements in process with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness, while leveraging and implementing key systems.
  • Support the VP of Finance and team during the annual financial audit, worker compensation audit, income tax audits, etc.
  • Address ad hoc reporting and projects as periodically requested by the accounting team.

What You’ll Need to Have for success: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
