Reporting to the Benefits Manager, the Benefits Coordinator has the primary responsibility of administering Colony Hardware’s employee benefits as well as provides comprehensive knowledge and support to all employees and leaders within the area of benefits.  

A Little About Your Day: You will

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Conduct benefits orientations and explain the benefits self-enrollment system.
  • Maintain employee benefits administration systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately within the HRIS/payroll application for accurate payroll deductions. 
  • Audit monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs.
  • Prepare annual open enrollment by working with benefits broker and benefits enrollment system. Assists with OE meetings and distributing materials.
  • Processes and administers leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical disability, FMLA and state leaves (where applicable).
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Process Workers Compensation claims promptly and accurately, manage communication with insurance providers and facilitate return to work plans with managers. 
  • Assist with completing benefits reporting requirements.
  • Assists the HR department in carrying out various human resources tasks, programs, and procedures for employees.
  • Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information.

What You’ll Need to Have for success:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in employee benefits administration
  • Three (3) years of experience in benefits administration applications and HRIS software, (ADP Workforce Now a plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with solid knowledge of Excel
