Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, the Regional Purchasing Manager is primarily responsible for managing the purchasing operations of a specific region and negotiating and maintaining relationships with suppliers. The Regional Purchasing Manager is also responsible for adapting and innovating processes and procedures as required in support of the company’s growth. 

A Little About Your Day: You will 

  • Maintain and manage the department in support of system and customer demand including providing mentorship, guidance, training, development, and handling of performance issues.
  • Ensure daily execution of purchase orders in support of system and customer demand.
  • Manage products to ensure the most current and core products are part of our offering, working with Category Managers and Marketing.
  • Oversee and ensure costs and other critical system parameters are updated as required by staff.
  • Work with the Category Manager and Marketing to ensure our product offering represents the most current models from our core manufacturers.
  • Oversee and manage all supplier returns processes, promotional opportunities and sales agreements in coordination with Category Manager, negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring compliance.
  • Manage NetSuite system data parameters including min/max levels to ensure fill rate objectives are attained.
  • Resources problem suppliers as necessary.
  • Maintains local supplier relationships always looking to leverage Colony’s position, address and resolve issues, and source new suppliers.
  • Collaborates with Branch Managers and suppliers to optimize local opportunities.
  • Support acquisition integration.
  • Supports Category Manager in the implementation of purchasing and sourcing strategies and  supplier requirements and policies
  • Maintains and analyzes records of products ordered and received.
  • Prepares and creates reports on market conditions and merchandise costs.
  • Tracks and manages open customer backorders to insure timely delivery.

What You’ll Need to Have for success: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • 8+ years experience working in purchasing, ideally in a distribution or similar environment, with a focus on direct purchasing.
